Exchange of the Kingdom of Bhutan

 The cultural exchange of the Kingdom of Bhutan which leads Sekishu washi and Misumi Town started from 1986.
In the meantime, the acceptance of the technical trainees from the Kingdom of Bhutan, and the dispatch of specialists of Japanese paper have been promoted and undertaken in our town. (1991,1994
,1997,1999
The relationship between both countries have been deepened gradually.
In 1990, we presented manufacture equipments to the paper factories there, and in 1995, Yuji Seitani, a mayor in Misumi Town, visited the Kingdom of Bhutan and exchanged the Memorandum of Cultural Exchanges.
We have welcomed a fifteen training members, and we have also sent fourteen specialistsユ dispatch so far.
We provided instruction of raw materials, conducted the investigation of paper factories, and guided the paper making technique in 1998.
We also provided the instruction for making suki keta (mold), which is required for paper making, the technical instruction of paper manufacture, and we have focused on promotion of the Association Organization of Bhutan paper in 2000.
However, we had a great deal of difficulty in the fields, such as in a market, quality, and transferring technique.
This year, two specialists dispatch is decided from JICA by the request from Bhutan Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
The technical instruction was carried out from September 21 to November 3, 2001, and I do the report which visited the Kingdom of Bhutan. This time, the objective of guideline for technique to the Bhutan paper is as follows:
